To you who are unfamiliar with the term "Territory of Hawaii" we offer you a whole new world which T. H. conjures in our heads...a world of plantation camps where the workers of the cane fields lived...Rice Camp, Seki Camp, Halaula, Aukukui. Our home page photograph is perhaps the iconic image - the single walled, green, corrugated steel roofed houses and white framed windows with the laundry hanging in the backyard near the furo (Japanese for bath) house. At this website, we offer you a smattering of the language which started in these camps and crossed into today's generation, with each generation adding pieces to this unique language which we call Pidgin English.
